Veteran's Honor Memorial
When you visit the Boyertown American Legion, pay a visit to the Veteran's Honor Memorial, featuring Honor Bear standing guard, a 60 foot American Flag Pole, and a Memorial Brick display!
Honor Bear is a part of Boyertown's Bear Fever public art project and started his tour of duty at 9am on September 11th, 2022. The soldiers who stand guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier do not stop for rain, snow or any other bad weather. That is the same for our Honor Bear, who stands guard 24/7/365 over the Veterans Memorial.
This 60 foot flag pole, home of the Flags of the Brave, is dedicated to Robert "Bob" Ellis, for his endless devotion to the country and it's veterans. Bob was a member of the Boyertown American Legion for over 75 years, serving many roles from board member to post commander. He was the Boyertown Legion Bears official scorekeeper for 45 years, while also scoring over 60 American Legion Baseball tournaments, including NINE World Series!
Veteran Bricks
The Veteran Brick portion of the Memorial display is a fundraiser looking to represent all Veterans in the Boyertown area! Do you know a Veteran that you would like to honor? Place a brick with their name, branch of Service and/or war or time of service in the Honor Memorial!
4x8 inch bricks are $40, 8x8 inch bricks are $75

Flags of the Brave
Flags of the Brave was created as another way to honor a Veteran who has passed away. The Legion will fly the casket flag for one month in the Veteran's Honor Memorial as a way to honor the service and life of that Veteran. The Flag will then be returned to the family with a certificate that the Flag was flown.
