Schadler allowed only 1 walk and 1 unearned run while striking out 5. Logan Barndt and Max Kneidinger each had two hits for the Bears, while Barndt and Peyton Moyer each drove in 2 runs. Abel Montero broke up the no-hitter with a booming triple to deep left-center field; he later scored Reading's final run.
In game 2 of the doubleheader, the Bears combined 7 hits, 8 walks, and 10 stolen bases into 8 runs to win an 8-5 battle with Reading. The win occurred in a game that was originally scheduled for June 12. Cole Kratz reached base 3 times on a single, double, and walk and scored on each occasion, also stealing 3 bases (including a steal of home). Matt Smith also had 3 steals. For Reading, Abel Monter had 2 hits and scored 2 runs while Dennys Rodriguez-Rivera drove in 3 runs.
